Warren Buffett was born on August 30, 1930 in Omaha, Nebraska. His father's name was Howard Buffett who belonged to the Congress party and mother's name was Leila Buffett. His full name is Warren Edward Buffett. He started his studies from Rose Hill School. When his father was elected in United States Congress, he moved to Washington DC with his family. Warren enrolled in Alice Deal Junior High School and than went to Woodrow Wilson High School. His interest in business started when he read the book "One Thousand ways to make $1000" from a library at the age of 7. His early business was to sell chewing gum, coca cola, magazines. He was very attached to the stocks in the school. He stayed with a regional stock broker for a few days and he got information about the stock market. Warren had a lot of interest in numbers since his childhood. He used to play with the numbers for hours. Warren tried his luck in Business and had become a successful businessman until he finished High school. By the age of 16, he had earned $ 50,000.
After high school, he did not want to go to college for studies. He wanted to do business but his father sent him to college forcibly. In 1947, he took admission in Wharton, University of Pennsylvania. He did Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. Then he applied for admission in Harvard Business School but they did not consider Warren to be good for their school and they rejected his form. Warren was very badly broken but when he came to know that Benjamin Graham had studied at Columbia Business School, he also went to study the same.
After completing his studies, he worked as an investor and salesman in Buffett-Falk and Co. from 1951-1954. He was married to Susanne in 1952. They had three children - Susie, Howard and Peter. After this, he worked as a Security Analyst and General Partner. Since 1974 he played the role of a chairman and CEO in the Berkshire Hathaway Inc. Then the buffet made its way towards the development of Berkshire Hathaway. He closed the company's Textile Manufacturing division and purchased different assets. These assets were of companies like Washington Post, Gieo Insurance, Exxon oil. He also invested a lot in Coca Cola. He played the role of Director in the big companies like Gillette, Citigroup, Global Markets, Holdings.
His mantra to earn money was to buy assets in different companies. With this formula he earned million of dollars. He announced in 2006 that he will give all his money in charity and 85% will go to Bill And Melinda Gates Foundation. This will be America's largest donation till date. He came to know in 2012 that he has Prostate cancer but has been successfully treated. He will always be the source of inspiration in the field of business.
