Security of any country or nation in the world has been an important topic. Increasing conservative capacity in the world has created a threat of catastrophic destruction. To prevent this possible destruction, each nation should develop its traditional defense system in a scientific manner. India has also greatly affected by this strategic scenario in a rapidly changing world. As a result, India has achieved unprecedented scientific and technical achievements in defense sector.
Responsible conditions for freedom, aggressive tendencies of the neighboring country, and especially for dealing with terrorist activities, the protective and immunological technological development have been an indispensable requirement for India. The immediate concern to the Indian Army, which is the fourth largest army after China, Russia and South Korea, is due to the ever increasing war capability of its neighbors. Neighborhood vicious intentions has been involved in India's internal upheaval. Due to these circumstances, the pressure on India's strategic preparation has increased. India has made a reasonable addition to scientific and technical programs under a solid strategy of its defense system.
The Defense Research and Development Organization was established in 1958. At this time, it was established in association with some other technological institutes. This department has been directly under the administrative control of the Defense Minister's Scientific Advisor. Scientific advisor is also an ex-officio secretary of the Defense Research and Development Organization.
Keeping in view the need of the Indian Army, Defense Research and Development Organization has discharged the vital role in different areas. The organization is working for the development of light combat aircraft for the Indian Air Force. Flight simulators for aircraft, brake parachute remote warrior system for fighter planes, Radar Indra and Indra-2 etc. have been developed to monitor the low-altitude ships, new series of bombs for bomber aircrafts.
Under the guided missile program related to the organization, it has also played an important role in the development of various types of missiles such as Prithvi, Agni, Trishul, Nag, Astra etc.
Missile:- The missile is a guided unmanned weapon which is launched with the help of a launch vehicle. There are two types of missiles:-
1- Cruise Missile
2- Ballistic Missile
Cruise Missile:- Cruise Missiles are such missiles, which are controlled by the control launch site until they hit their targets.
These are the following types:
1- Surface-to-Surface Missile
2- Surface-to-Air Missile
3- Air-to-Surface Missile
4- Sea-to-Sea Missile
Ballistic Missile:- This is a long-range missile. These type of missiles are directed to only one part of their route and they are sent to a predetermined trajectory. Once there is a definite path after the launch, there can be no deviation in their direction or path.
These are of two types:-
1- Intercontinental Ballistic Missile
2- Intermediate-range Ballistic Missile
