M.S. Dhoni playing Cricket The popularity of cricket in India can be gauged from the fact that cricket is given the status of religion and cricketers are given the status of God. If you talk about the captain of this game, then you think yourself how much pressure will the whole country have on that captain? But today I'm going to tell you about a man who, despite such pressure, has given India a lot of victory with the T-20 World Cup and the International World Cup, which was a dream for Indian cricket. That person is Mahendra Singh Dhoni.

Mahendra Singh Dhoni was born on 7 July, 1981 in Ranchi, Bihar. His father's name is Pan Singh and Mother's name is Devaki Devi. He has a sister Jayanti Gupta and a brother Narendra Singh Dhoni. His did his primary education from DAV Jawahar Vidya Mandir, Shyamali, Ranchi. In childhood, he was very fond of badminton and football. He was so good in football that he started playing it at the district and club level. On his good performance as a goalkeeper in football, his coach advised him to try cricket. Although he had never played cricket before, he impressed everyone with his wicket-keeping and became regular wicket keeper of Commando Cricket Club. On this best performance in Commando Cricket Club, he was selected for Vinoo Mankand Trophy under 16 Championship during 1997-1998 where he did tremendous performance. He was very fond of Sachin Tendulkar and Adam GilChrist. 

After clearing 10th class he spent more time on Cricket. During this time, he gave the examination of TTE in the railway and he was selected. He worked as a TTE on Kharagpur station of South Railway from 2001 to 2003. He also remained part of the Ranji Trophy from 2000 to 2003. Gradually, his tendency towards cricket increased and it started extinguishing his mind so he decided to make his own carrier in cricket. Prakash Poddar, member of BCCI team elected Dhoni to play at the National Level. In 2003, He was selected in India Team A and went to Kenya, Pakistan team was also there. In this series, he did tremendous performance and scored more than 50 runs. In this match, India defeated Pakistan. In this tournament, he scored 120 and 119 runs. Here, Dhoni scored 362 runs in 7 matches. He was given the place of Wicket keeper and batsman in the Indian Cricket team.

He was selected in the One-day team for Bangladesh tour in 2004-2005 but he got out on zero run in his first one-day match. Despite of his bad performance in one-day match, he was selected for one-day team against Pakistan. He scored 148 runs in 123 balls against Pakistan in his 5th match and India won this match. This was the highest score as a batsman and wicket-keeper. When Rahul Dravid resigned from cricket in 2007, Dhoni was made the captain of the cricket team.

Since then, Dhoni has never looked back and under his captaincy, India won the first T-20 World in 2007 and One Day International world Cup in 2011. 

On 4 July, 2010 he was married to Sakshi Dhoni. Sakshi gave birth to a daughter, Jeeva Dhoni on 6 February, 2015.
